I hit 110 mph on my Zephyr 550 the other day and still had a 1000 rpm to go till the 10000rpm redline. I haven't found any good top speed stats online, but I'm guessing it's 119mph like the GPZ550. I was kind of (pleasantly) surprised how well she kept pulling.

These bikes might be termed "small fours" but they are definitely not "slow fours" :)

For theory, play with this:

My GPz can regularly hit 120 mph with no problem, but actual results may vary.

Also keep in mind that Kawasaki speedometers are notoriously optimistic, often 8-10%.

I had mine near 120 many times. I don't use a speedometer. I use an electronic tach that I calibrate on a scope, then convert that mph. All of the chain-drive KZ bottom ends used the same gearing. I'm not sure if the ZR did as well, or not.

The ZR550 and GPz550 use the same 6 speed gearing.
