So I can't seem to Get this bike to go into total release when I pull the clutch in. So when I shift it stalls out as soon as it thuncks into gear.I just got the bike and it didn't start so I didn't check much out, well ui put in the starter clutch in and got it to start. But the clutch thing I'm not understanding why it disengage all the way. Or is it not suppose to? I have it torn back apart some so I can check things I did. But I did find 2 gouges on the push rod, I think its called, how f'ed up am I here

I would do a basic clutch/cable adjustment. If you need a manual, search eebbaayy for KZ750 shaft manual & get one that covers at least 1985. If you find a really cheap 84 manual, it might be sufficient as it covers the ZN700-A1 which is probably very similar to yours (if not virtually identical).
I'm not familiar with the shaft drive models, but the clutch release mechanism is different from most KZs. On your type of clutch, if cable adjustments cannot be done, I think the manual will say to replace the cable.
From the diagrams at Partzilla there is an inner & outer clutch push rod. I would replace the damaged part or parts, install a new cable, then do the adjustment. The push rod might be available at the dealer as it was used on the Vulcan 750.

On my 81 650 chain drive the rear wheel can be spinned by hand only in neutral.
In gear I can pull in the clutch lever & roll the bike around, but the rear wheel does not spin freely by hand on the center stand in gear w/ the clutch disengaged (lever pulled in).

That's not a problem unless there is real force spinning that wheel with the clutch pulled in. Can you stop it from spinning with your hand or foot with the clutch pulled in? If so, don't worry about it because it is simply the friction of the oil between the clutch plates that keeps the wheel moving. Ed

As already suggested, try doing the basic clutch adjustment as per the factory service manual.
Many a rider has solved a problem by the basic procedure.

Sounds like your coils might be hooked up to the wrong plugs. One coil fires cylinders 1 & 4; the other fires 2 & 3. Do you know which cylinders are firing and which are not? Ed
