Going for a new (er) bike was created by whirlwind598
I was wondering if anybody has any experience with the bike im looking at.

Its a 2007 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000

It has 30k miles and its going for $4999
From a reputable dealer in Albuquerque NM.

It looks very nice, and its a belt drive. Aside from that I don't know much about the bike itself. Any pro's or con's? Or things I should look for that could be bad?

You might try Vulcan Forums and go to the VN2000 portal.

Go for it! around here in Canada we would get an 800 cc Vulcan for that price. My friends all ride Vulcans they are very nice V twin bikes, and reliable, however I still prefer to ride my KZ"s .

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

I was just joking. Different style of riding. Gotten to the point it's hard to tell the bikes apart. At least the Jap bikes don't leak like the HD's.

I was looking at the VN 2000 when I went for more info on the subject and was told that the 1700 had "better" features as far as maintenance. Don't remember what all they were, but I've put over 33000 on the clock since Oct '11.
The only "negative" I've heard about the Beast as the fans refer to the 2000 is that it's hell on wearing out that rear tire

I've never been able to get more than 4/5000 miles out of a rear tire on my Z1. You pay to play.

Sometimes it's just hard to ease up on the throttle!

Hd's can be made oil tight if maintained properly. Mine doesn't, never has. Most people who have trouble with Harleys are of the weekend land pirate variety.

I don't live to ride, I ride to live.
