GPZ 530 chain conversion and overall gearing ?'s was created by taylee
1985 GPZ750.
I'm going to 530 chai/sprockets.
1. I'm curious to know, since I've not yet ridden this project bike, how the stock gearing is for freeway cruising?
What is the top speed with stock gearing?
2. How many teeth on the front and rear 530 sprockets would I need to retain the 630's stock gearing ratio?
I understand you have to do more teeth when you go to the 530?

Divide the existing number of 630 teeth by 5 and multiply by 6 - rounding to nearest whole number - to give you number of teeth on a 530 sprocket. Same with existing number of 630 chain links.
Z1enterprises.com have a nice page on this somewhere on their site.
sorry can't answer on how stock gearing works on freeway

Gearingcommander.com. I provided the gearing for the 1983 Zx750A (Gpz) so you can use that as a starting point.

Taylee, can't help you with the GPZ750 specific question, but when I did mine I just called up the guys at Z1enterprises and told them I would like to keep the equivalent gearing as the stock 630 chain. As always, they answered all my questions. They probably have an answer to your GPZ750 question as well.
