The question is did anyone ever haul one of them pre-fab homes down there. Might be a trucker's hall of fame for the dragon.

Seems like a bad idea to do that road in a truck anyway, and they needed spotters? Yeesh

The dragon will only be safe when drivers and riders that cross the dubble yellow are all prossicuted. If you want to wreck your bike, just go to Deals Gap on a weekend. I've seen 3 riders cross the dubble yellow and cause wrecks, one was very bad with serious injuries. No thanks.

It's not a race course. IMPO... anyone (read: ID-10-Ts) who goes on public roads with the intention of pushing the limit, get what they deserve. It's called "The Darwin Award" for good reason! (o:

Chris,
You're right Deals Gap is not a race course. The problem is the racer boys always hurt / kill other riders. About 1/2 of the people injured there are not riding hard at all. They are just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

You're right... and all should be held accountable. My thought process... if it's any consolation... any ID-10-T that causes an accident, that results in an innocent fatality, will still be held accountable... whether they survive or not. He/She/IT will have to answer for his/her/its actions on this 3rd rock from the sun, to a higher power. (in my book, this is GOD) Of course, your beliefs may differ, but this is what makes us who we are. We are ALL fallible...

So, my advice to you/anyone reading this... just don't be in the wrong place at the wrong time! :pinch:

Actually, interesting story; one of my friends is the former Deals gap society president, and the guy who claims to have coined the term "tail of the dragon". According to him when they started the run and nearly nobody was riding down there (hardly anybody knew about it compared to today, so cops didnt patrol and they'd shut the road down if they were trying for a speed run) speeds used to be much higher but safer because nobody was out there. Cool old guy, rides a tricked out 77 or 78 Goldwing.

Went to buy three goldwing engines from him and say around BSing for 4 hours then came home and had to google fact check him tailofthedragon.com/dragon_history_story.html it checked out, so call me impressed the people out there you wouldnt expect are tied to something cool and historical
