There's nothing on the forks to lube. I can't imagine what that's about.

Your best bet is NOT to winterize the bike at all. Your best bet is to run it for 10-15 minutes once a week through the winter. This keeps the carbs from getting clogged with fuel gooo; keeps the battery charged; and keeps oil on the cylinder walls. Except for 1 winter I've done this with my KZ650 since it was new and never had any problems starting it when spring came because at most it had only been a week or so since the bike last ran. At the end of the one winter I skipped I had to remove and clean the carbs. Ed

Read so many times that 80 to 90% of engine wear comes from cold starts that I drain the carbs and tank then oil up the cylinders and tank with a mix of wd-40 and oil and keep it wiped down with a little oil to keep the rust away...... tickle the battery for a couple hours with a 1 amp charger every month too.

ok thanks, I'll skip that then. I saw it on this: www.bikebandit.com/community/guides/how-...rize-your-motorcycle
to lube the fork surfaces. I guess I'm good then... we'll see what happens in March

Wouldn't hurt a bit to wipe down the fork tubes and headlight brackets etc with a shot of wd and oil...... rims, header etc etc. ;)

Around here we can buy non ethanol fuel. In the fall I start using that so when I slow my riding down in the winter, there's non-ethanol fuel in the tank. I also do like Ed says and start them up every so often. Oh, and use a battery tender...
Another note on the non-ethanol fuel. I filled up my 400 tank in 2013 with it and was still running off that same tank this year.
