Some things really ARE too good to be true! The deal with the bike is still on, however the plans to have it delivered fell through. Things couldn't get prepared in the right amount of time so it's on hold. Hopefully the friend with the KZ1300 will get it ready (since he was a dealership mechanic from 1976 until about 1988 and has all of the required parts) by the time I can go get it.
I'm still excited and not giving up yet!

So it's been a couple of months trying to get everything situated. Today I'm taking the GS to my cousin's house to load on the trailer. We are headed out in the morning to Knoxville HaXXy-DavXXson to pick up the KZ1300 and drop off the GS1100. I will try to post pictures and an update soon after I get home with it. I know it's partially disassembled (gauges, headlight, hand controls) but I have all winter to get ready for spring.

Seriously though, I'm going to get the Mrs. on it in just a minute. I traded a GS1100-L for a 1979 KZ1300 today. It's a bike that I've known since i was a kid and have always wanted.
If you've been following along so far, you know I said that my friend got it from the original owner. Not actually the fact. My friend is that 3rd owner and I'm now the 4th. Guess I should box it up and junk it since I'm number 4.
On the plus side: It already has a manual cam chain adjuster, it now has a set of 1100 Spectre air shocks on the back that are about 2 inches shorter than stock. It looks like it's going to clean up well, and it has 27,400 miles on it! Not too bad I think. Total investment so far is about half of the asking price that I saw for one with a locked up engine.
