"OINKJOHNSON" the ebay pawn broker is parting another complete low VIN # 1973 Z1. He sold the body work a week or so ago, he currently has 2 BEAUTIFUL chrome fenders.
have not seen the engine case, frame and title yet?? Maybe gone already in another private sale?
But check out this one!!???? The lower legs he has listed. 1 is the real early squared off fork at the reflector, the other is the later 73-75 style. check out the picture. This is a good one. You can tell they were a matched set, worn evenly, aged, patina the same! Could it have been the last one at production line ran out? Good one for Jeff Saunders to see! (hope you read this Jeff) Then the newer ones been put at the assembly line? Whoever buys these might not catch this! They are sitting at $256 right now.
Either way, this has just helped the price of original Z1's go up in value! As there is 1 less in the world!
If anyone knows Brad "OINK" check out his auctions and look at the early Z1 parts among his drag bike stuff. You can tell that this original Z1 was very nice! He must have stole it from the seller?
Whatever, thaught I'd share this.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationBeen watching this bike. It was listed at one time as a complete bike. It made it to $13,800 with reserve not met. I guess he thinks it will fetch more in parts?
Some of the 5000 number bikes had some 72 parts left over on them even though they were not 72 bikes. The speedo on his bike was a 72 also.

I doubt that bike had a serious bidder at 13,800. More like a one of his buddies bidding it up hoping someone would outbid his shill and hit the reserve. Oink paid $6300 for the 73 plus $250 buyer premium as the bike was bought at an estate auction up in Byron Mich. I had to work could not make the trip ( 4 hour drive) but I submitted an absentee bidder form and of course was out bid, I bid $5750. Oink actually sent his dad up there to bid and haul the bike home, he was racing that weekend . I'm sure he got money back and then some., I've been watching the auction he's doing pretty good
Here is a photo of the bike from the auction websight. Bike cleaned up pretty good It's a shame he broke it down.

I noticed the front forks also, wonder if all the bidders have! Most all of the parts have been bring pretty good money. Glad I saved my shocks, mirrors, etc after having one of mine restored. See what they are bid at! Barely missed getting the gauges myself but gave up after that. It's a shame Oink parted the bike out but money is money. Gives some of us a chance to stock up on original parts and drives up the prices on those bikes that are still left.

Heck, just a weeks back someone hit a buy it now on ebay for vin#243 at 14,000 dollars with a re-stamped
motor and missing parts. Good luck making your money back on that one!

whats up Gary
Seems miss matched forks is common as I have had two 73's with said. I also picked up a 75 last year with one early lug fork and that bike was retired to the shed in late 70's.
I also remember a 73 for sale over the pond with mixed forks.
Interesting. . ...........

my point is they have become so high in value that the ones worth the most retain the worst things baout the Z's....to keep it of value it cant barley be ridden and then onle as a high bar bad tire beast.......kzcollector....no kz"rider"......the blue Z1R's are now holy grial too and they suck....MKIIZ1R used to be the "bad" one back in the day...way better bike.....any kz1000A is a better bike than a Z1........these old bikes are getting weird......
