rear sprocket was created by Fluke333
I have a 1981 kz 440 and my question is how will a 40 tooth rear sprocket affect my rpm's in 5th gear?
in 5th gear at 80mph it turns about 6500rpm,im trying to lower that without affecting my takeoff in 1st gear.

Hello, Fluke333, and WELCOME to KZr!
Lowering rpm of top gear cruising speed by reducing size of rear drive sprocket will affect takeoff in first gear.
For example, fitting a rear sprocket with 3~5 less teeth would feel on takeoff about like takeoff feels now in 2nd gear.
Good Fortune!
