Hey everyone
While I wait on my main fuse to arrive in the mail I've had a few days to stare at my KZ550 and wait until I can turn it back on and ride again. I noticed on the speedometer the 55mph is colored red. Does anyone know why only the 55mph is red?

55 mph was set as the maximum speed limit back in the 70s as a fuel savings measure because of the 1973 oil crisis. Try a google search for US 55 mph speed limit.

I think the 85 mph max was mandated as a so-called safety measure to keep people from going too fast.
