I got my first kz900....1976...complete project in pieces...my question is the exhaust,..the guy gave me a left and right side exhaust pipes .... 2 into 1 .....
were these stock on the 76 kz900 Z1? ..or are they off another model?
any help would be appreciated....Thanks

Depends on what they look like. I believe the LTD came with with 4-2 (two 2-1) pipes but there are also period aftermarket pipes that were the same layout but different designs.

Should be 4 into 4 but those are getting hard to find. They are making "new" 4 into 4 sets but man those things are expensive. Regards, Tim

I hope you find out.I need the answer too.I have an 81 1000J.I didnt have any stock exhausts.I bought some from a guy who had tons of parts.He didnt know what year they were, but they fit my bike.I hope someone chimes in.

If its aftermarket, then they sol done set to this poster and one to a guy in alvarado texas who sold it to me.I dont think its aftermarket.

ok.Thanks a lot friend.I did not know that.So mine are stock exhausts.Just dont kinow what year.I dont care,now that I know they are kawasaki.

so They are Jardine pipes...from an LTD correct?...either way I will probably put a 4 into 1 pipe on it cause it's been bored to 1000cc. bigger carbs, etc..

IMO, they are not oem kawasaki ltd pipes :huh: . they look to be an aftermarket copy of some sort :blink: ........the meg end on a ltd pipe does not look like that........... plus the mounts are different.....:dry:
