In The Wink Of An Eye.

The place is any street, anywhere in the world of bikes and riders. A place where the asphalt is smooth and true. A place where the way is clear and the traffic lights are bright. A place where the air is filled with only the sound of harnessed potential revved and the echo of the rider's heartbeat. In the wink of an eye; red fades and surrenders to the growing glow of green and the spectrum shifts. The minds are sharp and precise as the electric fire explodes in both rider and machine. Muscles act with lighting speed. Cable tightens, throttles open. In the wink of an eye; the Dragon's hearts roar to life as they draw in the cool night air to mingle with a lethal brew of chemical energy. Fire and fury rage only to be contained and harnessed by forged steel. Redirected by the turning of the cranks. Held by the pressure of plate against plate. Translated by the merge and meshing of gears. Chains strain and wheels turn. In the wink of an eye; the battle between friction and raw horsepower is decided in the instant with the burn of composite rubber and asphalt. Smoke mixes with the Dragons breath of spent hydrocarbons. Newtonian physics are challenged as the bikes change state; lurching forward and on. The imbalance of the equation will be rectified as acceleration matches brutal unleashed force. All in the wink of an eye.
In seconds the run will end. But the win or loss was decided at the start. In the clear and focused calm of the rider's mind and instant reflex. In the precision and power of the machine unleashed. In the shattered still of the night as the green light begins to glow. In the wink of an eye.

I enjoyed your post. You have a real talent for writing. Keep it up.Intrepid wrote: Thanks, JR. I'm not sure how to respond but to say "Point taken" and one I will keep in mind in future work.
Thanks again, N.S.L. Intrepid
Not making any points so please don't take anything I said as other than a compliment.
My reference to "nads" was to nads.com who is a member here but has not posted in quite some time. Nads had an interesting and very different writing style. Anyone remember nads?
