I need to do a cross reference parts/models was created by koolaid_kid
I have some parts and I would like to see which models they fit. I have the part numbers already. All I want to do is input the part numbers and have the site show me which models these parts fit.
I went to partzilla and part shark; neither has that capability.
I know there is a site that lets me do that, I just can't find it.
Thanks in advance.

Go to Kawasaki.com. On left side put cursor over "Owner Information" then on drop down menu click on "Parts Diagrams." The click "Continue" next to "Motorcycles" and click on model/year/etc. on drop down. Once you get the list of parts for your bike you can click on the category of parts - such as "Air Cleaner" and you will see a diagram of all the parts for that category. Then when you click on an actual part number on the list under the diagram it will say if the Item Status is "Active." If it is "Active" Kawasaki still sells the part through dealers. Also, at that little page you can click on the yellow highlighted question mark for a cross reference of which bikes share that part or click on the red highlighted S to see earlier part numbers for the same part.

If you want to change bike models you can enter the new model at the top. Also, you can put in just the first part of the mode (i.e. KZ650) and it will list all the years and sub models.

You also can put in a part number up top and switch the word "MODEL" to "PART NUMBER" using the little drop down in that box. If you do that it will show all the models that part is used on.

If a part number shows "0" bikes it may have been superseded by a newer number. In that case, look up the part number as described above and use the red "S" button to see all previous part numbers.

I selected:
Motorcycle
1983
0750 CC
Standard Street Bikes
GPZ750
It says "no models"?
I tried various Product Types, always "no models".
I am sure I am missing something obvious, just not sure what it is.

Just click on "Motorcycle" then 1983 under "Model Year" and 750cc under "CC" then click on the "Continue" button. Don't click on product type or marketing name. You should then get the whole list of 1983 750's and you can then select Ninja 750R. It's the last one on the list. When you click on that you will get the list of diagrams available for the "ZX750-A1 (GPz 750) (1983)". Ed

Well, it appears broken for the GPZ750. I entered just GPZ750 and it showed 1982 only, as a superbike (right  ). No other years were available.
I was able to get to it by entering my VIN, however, so it is there, just not accessible by ordinary means.
I'll try that Ed, thanks.

Are you sure about partzilla? I cross-reference part numbers there all the time & usually get a model list. I'd guess there are some numbers that don't work, though.

No, not sure. I did not see a way, but this was my first attempt at doing it so it is possible I missed the place where I was supposed to do it.
I am doing it on Kawasaki.com, so its all good.
I'll try again at partzilla for something else and see where I went wrong.

If you use "Zx750" on Kawasaki.com, it'll bring up the '83-85 bikes. I also know that MotoSport.com has the diagrams for the '85 but not the '83 or '84 models. There are a few differences I noticed between the years.

The part number's cross reference does NOT show you what bikes use that same part. They only show you which bikes have that number show up on their parts fiche. A part number can show up on a bike's parts fiche even though that part is not used on the bike. This is because sometimes there is a reference showing multiple parts for multiple years, models, or countries on a given fiche. The part in question may have been used on a different year, or in a different country, but was not used on the bike in question.

To verify a part is actually used on a given bike, you have to actually check the bike's fiche and make sure the part number isn't for a similar, but different, bike.

At Partzilla use the search box at the top. The cross-ref doesn't work for some obsolete parts. If it works, double-check the info at Kawasaki.com, as the partzilla site tends to lump too many bikes together for some stuff.
