I have a 2005 model ZRX that IMO is a great bike. Bone stock, dead reliable and plenty comfy for longer rides. Never did fancy the plastic coated boy-racers, and as I owned an 83 ELR it made perfect sense to me. Paul

Don't be ridiculous! It's only a flesh wound!

2005 ZRX is a 1200 with the same basic motor as the ZZR1200.
2000 ZRX is a 1100 with the same basic motor as a ZX11.
Engine parts do not interchange between the 1100 and the 1200.

Either one is a fun bike. ZRXOA is a real active forum with tons of great info.

If you want insanity personified, there's a turbo ZX12 available locally for $8k

You'd feel differently about the plastic if you were trying to surpass 200 mph. :P

I own a 2002 ZRX 1200R. The bike you are looking at would be based on a stock 1100. The engine is the same as what was used in the ZX1100, in its day the fastest quickest production bike before the Suzuki Hayabusa took over in 99. The engines run strong with real low/midrange torque. I cannot view your Craigs List link on my work computer, firewalled. The turbos I know of run very strong with horsepower that seems only limited to the PSI you put in and how engine/valves will hold up. You can learn a lot more on this forum; zrxoa.org There are several who have installed turbos. Hope this helps.

BTW, I am The Mad Duck on that forum. Happy hunting.

What Forrest meant to say is it's the same "basic" motor as the ZX11, put ZX11 pistons, cams, valve springs, head, carbs, and transmission, on the ZRX1100 motor and it would be the same as a ZX11 motor.

steell on zrxoa :)

Yes, Same "Basic" motor. You are correct on the various other differences. Thanks Steell, I have been in a big hurry posting lately and could have been more accurate.

AND, I will look out for you on the ZRXOA! ;)

A lot of really nice, knowledgeable, folks on the ZRXOA board. There's a fellow over there that's eager to help you spend your money on Expensive Lightweight Stuff, goes by the nic of Kwick :)

I bought a ZZR1200 motor, and a 93 ZX11 roller, off that board, and picked the stuff up in person. Friendly people.
