Gas Gauge stuck on Full, Neutral light staying on

Gas Gauge stuck on Full, Neutral light staying on was created by chrisbmercer
I am looking for some help on these two things I have a gas gauge which is stuck on full and a neutral light that wont go out this is on my KZ1000. I am new to working on bikes so any help would be appriciated

your gas gauge is in reality a volt meter that says E & F rather than 0 & 12. Your sending unit is a rheostat that varies the resistance to ground. If I was to guess, your sending unit return to the gas gauge is shorted to ground causing the gauge to read full!
Sorry, that's all I got for you. Surely someone will know just what's wrong with your neutral indicator.
