Thought I'd ask the community about my 550 LTD... was created by Landonn
Hey, folks! I'm not sure how to proceed here, so I'd appreciate some advice. Thanks in advance!
A few years ago I bought an '81 550 LTD from my cousin, hoping to get it on the road. Unfortunately, that never happened. Now, I'm trying to sell her, but I don't know the righteous way to proceed. I put it up on the Seattle Craigslist for $300 and I was sure that was a good price, but I'm only getting low-ball offers for it (like $100). Maybe it's an omen that I should just fix it up, but I'm in need of the cash...
Here's the dilemma: I'm concerned that parting it out would be an unfortunate alternative... (one less KZ on the road, right?) But it's tempting. There seems to be a lot of great parts on her, like the seat, which is perfect. What do you all think? Was my asking price too high? What would be an appropriate price? Assuming nothing good about the engine at 65K miles... Would the community rather she remain whole? Wanna buy some parts?
I appreciate your input, and I hope I've come to the right place. I've checked out the forum in the past, and it seems pretty awesome.
Anyway, thanks again. I took the liberty of posting it in the For Sale section... Hope that's alright considering where I am with it.

It looks like $300 would be a bargain for the buyer. I would put it on eBay with that as the starting price. Ed

Are you kidding me? $300 out in AZ will get you a box of rusty junk parts. I'd kill for a bargain like that.

Relist it on CL for $600, then take the 300 bucks someone will offer.
Or $950 & take the $500 offer.
basic jewelry marketing 101.
