kz1000 manual

Im not sure what exact manual I need. Trying to figure it out has been confusing. I have a 1981 kz1000 c4 police motor. The mkII motor. What factory service manual is used for that engine and does anyone have one for sale?

I picked up my manual on eBay for $10 shipped.
Usually, most manuals will cover several different years and models.
You may also be able to get your local bookstore to order you a manual that covers your particular year and model.

The link in my signature will have all the engine specs for your model. The only part that will be different is the lack of a Police wiring diagram. Most of the electrical is the same, Ignition and Charging though.

That link is for the later J style engine. Mine is the 1015 cc MkII moyor like in the St model but with chain drive.

You do need, as you suspect, the earlier 1015cc manual. If no one chimes in, I'll post (tonight) the manual number you require.

The manual you need is Kawasaki part number 99924-1006-05. It will appear on eBay so patience is a requirement...unless someone had a link to a free download...I do not. You may also consider purchasing the supplemental manual for the KZ1000-C4 (there are numerous ones on eBay). Can't guarantee that you'll need that one, but I'm not familiar with any peculiarities of the C4 model.
