Riding a bike to work and having to wear a suit?

I'm about to start an internship in May that will require me to wear a suit. I'm pretty certain every job I have after I graduate the following May will require a suit.

Any of you have suggestions?

In college I had a job as a chauffer for a limo company. I had to wear a tuxedo and my only form of transportation was a GPz550. I just wore a black overcoat. It got a little warm in the summer but those are the breaks. My freinds called me Bond, James Bond LOL. Good times.
Best of luck,
Jim

A respected member of the Zed community had the same problem and he just wore the suit to work. He was known as Jekyl and Hyde. ;)

I ride with an Aerostich all year around over street clothes. I just add an extra fleece jacket or electrics under in cold weather. In hot, well hot is hot, I like hot so I wear this even in 110 degree heat and actually enjoy peoples remarks about how I must be utterly miserable. I'm not miserable, I'm riding. I don't drive I ride. :) Get a light color like the silver, it can be worn in hot weather. $897 out of a lot of guys price range in this Chinese country, but if you want quality, something that works, worth every cent.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

All of this is my personal opinion, so take it for what it's worth.

Any job that requires a suit is one where appearances matter and there is some level of conformity required if you want to get ahead. In those situations, I aim to prove that I can ride a motorcycle and be just as professional and present just as good an image as the snob co-worker who is highly indebted for his BMW 5 series.

An Aerostich is good but probably beyond an intern's budget. A rain suit is cheap and will keep you dry and keep your clothes clean, but provides no protection in an off.

On the other hand, for about $300 at MotorcycleGear.com you can get a pair of Firstgear HT overpants that go right over your suit pants and any of several waterproof textile jackets. Weather and crash protection and no wind blowing up your pants leg. Fold your suit jacket neatly (in plastic for waterproofing, when needed) in a tank bag or seat bag. Wear your boots (for weather and crash protection and no damage to your dress shoes from the shifter) and keep a pair of dress shoes under your desk at work. You arrive clean and dry and unmussed, change shoes, and you give nobody an excuse to suggest you shouldn't be riding to work.

That's my approach.

Buying a car should be a last resort. ;)
