I recently moved back to Western NY after a long stay in Texas (where I learned to ride and bought my first KZ) and I tell you what, Winter Riding in the South is SO MUCH better than up here! My biggest expense was Winter Riding Gloves!

What brands do you Northern Riders like to wear in the Winter? Any advice would help!

I have an Aerostich Roadcrafter two piece and a Darien with pants. When it is cold I use my Kanetsu electric liner and I turn on my heated grips. The sled folks have some nice gear too.

Call these people and order their catalog, it is full of the best gear!

No brands unless it's real cold then I might put on the Carharts .

Like Tri said jeans and a hoodie , followed by a good leather jacket that zips up and has a flap that covers the zipper and snaps, it also needs to seal around the wrists good.

I found some good light weight Sheep skin gloves that have thinsulate and a small gauntlet that goes over my jacket sleeves nicely to block wind.

I also have a neoprene chin and neck protector that comes in handy, hopefully I won't need it very often, not planning any real cold weather riding unless the flag makes it up here this Winter :pinch:

When I make it back out to California that'll be my winter gear, too! But until then, I'm stuck in Western NY and its obnoxious weather.

That Aerostitch stuff looks nice and warm but it's a little out of my price range. Does anyone else wear Carhartts? I've been looking at those lately.

The Carhartts are really not something that I would want to wear riding all winter , more like something to wear to get from point A to B with out freezing my butt off , far to cumbersome for every day or above freezing.

I found my leather at a second hand store for 9 bucks already broke in B)

Goodwill's and Salvation army's are a good place to look along with your local thrift and pawn shops.
