Here is a pic of my next project. This came home with me in the back of my truck. Sadly, it isn't mine...yet. A friend I've known from back in the old neighborhood asked me to help him out with his bike.
Just going to do some basic maintenance and some cosmetic work for now. If things pan out, it will be a total resto maybe next year or so.

Bike has a 130/80-18 Avon rear. To tell you the truth, your bike looks great just like it is. All of it is designed around those rim/tire sizes and the frame/suspension geometry. When you start changing one thing, other areas of the bike will need to be addressed to work with the changes. Me personally, I'd leave well enough alone. That bike is FINE! You want a bike with a big tire, get a zzr or a ZRX

I just found this pic. Oh well, here's another teaser pic. I haven't done much work on it. Have the seat in the upholstery shop now.
Restored the gauges, rebuilt the forks, new ceramic on the exhaust. Straightened out some wiring gremlins.
Getting near time to ride.

Leon, what's up bro? I don't know how you missed this thread. But I am reluctant to say that I just returned this bike to the owner today. Didn't do a lot to it. Did some dash/gauge cluster resto work. Wiring gremlin work. re-coated the header and slicked out the canister. Rebuilt the forks Nd did some general maintenance. This bike has a close ratio tranny, with a set of Andrews(I believe)cams, 29 smoothies and the Kerker K Series pipe. Runs well!
That is a Ti Ceramic coating on the header. Looks killer. My photos did NOT come out well in that light. Sorry, but I was in a rush to get it back to him before he went to work this morning.
Some day I'm gonna be able to say, Hey, look at my new Z1-R. He's not ready to sell, but it's mine when he does let her go.
