Touring Kawasaki was created by ThatGPzGuy
Hey Everyone, I've been thinking about a new project and wanted to get something I can do some long- distance, two-up touring on? I am looking at 70's era Goldwings but wondering if there was a Kawasaki that might fit the bill. Suggestions?

If you don't mind some weight (but then all touring bikes are going to be somewhat heavy), check out the Voyager XII. My dad has one, a 2001 I think. Pretty nice bike. They don't necessarily have the aftermarket support like the Goldwing but if you want to stay Green, it's an option.

Thanks Doug, I'll check out the Voyager but I did want to keep it Vintage :)

They started making them in 1986 I believe and they're pretty much all the same. If you want older they made a Voyager XIII (6 cylinder) in the early 80's and before that in 1980 was the Kz1300B2 Touring (which I have one of.)

The Voyager is getting close to what I am looking for although I would prefer a little more "naked".
Thanks!

PS I like the Concours too and that may be the ticket.

The KZ1300 can be had naked, with a mini fairing, or fully dressed. Here's a naked one and one with a mini fairing and turbo in case the tourer is in a hurry. ;)

While the Voyager 1200 had hydraulic valves it also had a terribly wobbly front end. I ditched mine in favor of the older 1300.

The 1300 uses the same shims as my KZ 900.

I have had both. Liked the Concours better and just bought another. The best bang for the buck out there. Lots of used parts, great online support, nice ride, fair power and handling, great weather protection.
