looking for sources about camshaft manufacturing

Hi, all. I've gone back to school for another degree, Mechanical Engineering Tech this time. I have a manufacturing class in which I'll be writing a paper and giving a presentation on the manufacturing of camshafts, and I need some good sources.

I've found a few random sources on Google, but I haven't found too much that's very reputable or in-depth; the professor is fairly strict. I have some spare KZ750 cams I can bring in as an example, that should help.

Anyone know of any proper authoritative sources on the subject, or a good way to find them? It could be about motorcycle camshafts or camshafts in general. It could be about the quick production line manufacturing of stock cams or the machining of customs. Ideally, I'd like to be able to cover all of these things.

Thanks.

Call Web cams . they r very receptive to inquiries , maybe they can get u pointed in the right direction. they may even have an upgraded version of your 750 cam. if so you could get the specs and compare them.

Crower or Competition Cams, would be good to talk to. The Engineering behind the Variable Valve Timing widely used these days would be what i would include. The different grinds for each engine, and the current problems found with the Metal composition to meet the new demands. Like the Lobes going away, not on the Valve Lift, but on the High Pressure Fuel Pump on these new Gasoline Injection Systems. The Cam Lobe and its mating plunger is a high wear point on basically every brand out there. A very high failure rate at the moment, even recalls are being done.
Good area for a research paper, Camshafts. Good Luck.

Thanks for the suggestions. This is some very specific stuff that will be useful later, but what I'm looking for to start are some good educational resources on simply the physical processes used to cast or grind the cams to begin with.
