Z1 or KZ900A4 ??????? was created by baborz72
Ok, I recently scored a "76" Z1F. I am informed that in 76 there was no Z1, only KZ. This bike has always been titled as a 76 KZ900A4. Tonight I was talking with a guy and forgot whether it was a 75 or 76, so I looked on the framehead above the v.i.n.(which by the way is Z1F-088237), and it says that the vehicle conforms to 1975 model year blah,blah..... My question is: Is this one of the last Z1s????? Do I have something here that I should tread lightly on as far as mods etc...???? Or is it just another old KZ?????

Generally anything built in middle of year is considered the next model year, from your picture the paint/bodywork looks like a 76 kz900 to me anyway.
Does the battery come out through the right side cover? that would make it a 76 kz900

It's an early 900A4. Frame numbers started around the 85*** point.
