Yea, all the cheater items in drag racing is what made me lose interest, from hydralic clutch releasers to ign kill boxes, to electric shifters.
Thats the problem, once one guy starts with that crap, everyone else has to use it to run close to the same times.
I prefer riding like a MAN, release clutch with your hand and shift with your foot, far more skill involved like the old days when men were men and women knew when to shut up.

Remember, don't work on your bike so much you never ride it.

I don't see anyone in this thread taking Byron to task. The NHRA, yes, the MoCo, yes, not Byron Hines.
This whole weighting of the Prostock Motorcycle class to favor HOG is akin to letting a Clydesdale run the Kentucky Derby by giving the Clydesdale a half-lap head start! No, the Kentucky Derby has it right--only thoroughbreds run it. If someone wants to race Clydesdales, then they can start their own racing series. Heck, Churchill Downs might even allow it to run there such as Indianapolis Motor Speedway has NASCAR running their own race there, but they don't mix NASCAR and Indy Car on race day.
Different courses for horses comes to mind.

I got an article that Rob Muzzy was puttin a zx14 prostock together. That was a few yrs ago though. Haven't heard anythinganything more since then. Imo why doesn't some put together a vintage motorcycle drag racing division together? They have vintage top fuel and funny cars at Beech Bend in Ky every year so why can't motorcycles have one of their own? Just my .02

Well, the wife and I took our 8 yr. old daughter to her first NHRA event, in St. Louis last Friday, All of the racers could not have been nicer. The Aranas were especially great, and waved her over to sit on Jr's bike! Tony Schumacher and his daughter were very friendly too. Capps, Wilkerson, Dixon, Massey, Grubnic, Brown, Lucas, Beckman, all were friendly and kind. Just a great day at the track.

Cool stuff, Eric. Sounds like you and her had a blast. I suppose one of these years I ought to get my butt down to Heartland Park when the circus comes to Topeka in May.
