I suspect most of you saw that
Motorcyclist Magazine
named the 1969 Honda CB750 as motorcycle of the century.
Just think, if Kawasaki had managed to beat Honda to market with their 4 cylinder 750, that could've been a Kaw!
Of course then Kawasaki might never have made the Z1.

I would have thought the bike of the century would have been a Harley. After all, they have been using the same basic 45* V-twin engine for over 100 years.

The best bike of the century is the one that you get to ride with a big smile on your face and keep going back to it, even if it might let you down on occasion!
p.s. mine just happens to be a Z1 but any Kaw will do

Most important bike must be the Honda step-through, surely. Without that to open up the market for Japanese bikes, we may still be riding Knuckle-head Harleys and leaking Bonnies

Nates vintage bike axiom: Riding is the reward for time spent wrenching.
Murphys corollary: Wrenching is the result of time spent riding.

Another example of a magazine kissing Honda's ass, errr, ring.
My suggestion is any of the lightweight twins that US service men found in Britain during WWII and sought to bring back here after the war. That brought a complete sea change to motorcycling in the USA of which the Japanese models rode the coat tails.
