Riding over again, but to Depoe Bay, 5-25-12

I'm going over from Bend to Corvallis for the vintage show/ ride on Saturday morning on the KZ. Some friends are going but pulling a trailer of some bikes. Camping at the Fairgrounds, and seeing what bikes everyone else brings along. The weather looks as though it will be nice for the weekend.

Here are some pictures I took, I finally found my USB cable.

Well it was a great ride and show with a swap meet with a lot of bikes. More than 90 went on the ride out around the area near Corvallis. That was a lot of fun, and the weather did turn a bit on Sunday morning with light rain. I bugged out about 11:30am and rode back to Bend, without getting wet. :whistle:

Today for the Long Memorial weekend, I am going again over to the coast at Depoe Bay. Its been raining for hours here last night and this morning, but looks pretty decent on the west side of the mountains 1.5 hours from here. So I'll put the rain gear on and head out, and hopefully the weather will be OK in the pass. Its only 5800' up their so its just some fresh snow on the roadside with wet pavement, well above freezing. Taking the KZ again, and will see if it handles better after some rear end work the other night. I changed the swing-arm Bearings, then braced the Arm, and changed the rear tire, another Shinko 712. So maybe if the weather is good I'll get some good riding along the 101 on the coast.

KZ performed beautifully on the ride over. Only about 10mi of rain to ride through, I didn't get wet really just a bit, then rode out of it and dried off quickly. The Vetter fairing is so nice on these cold rides, it blocks off most of the wind and a lot of the rain. Lots and lots of Cops out on the roads today looking to Bust anyone going over the 55 mph.
Stopped in Sweet Home at the A&W drive in for a Good Root Beer and burger, otherwise just 1 gas stop at I5&20 to make the round trip back to that point.
The KZ rode SO much better with the new swing arm bearings and the bracing.
The rear is really starting to feel good for a twin shock, they're Progressives. I would like some shocks with some dampening and rebound adjustments, not just spring pre-load. Might have to keep an eye out for some.
Riding back over to Bend on Monday, hopefully in some better weather, warmer would be nice.

Wanting to do this loop tomorrow morning before heading back on Highway 20. Looks like a bit of fun, if the rain holds off. Its a misty morning here at Depoe Bay, and low thick clouds. But if thats the worst of it, I'll do the loop out through this route tomorrow.
