i'd love to take 1 for a spin some day. i have 1 on my wish list but owning 2 bike at a time is my limit.
if u need any info go to zrxoa.com. there r some very knowlegable guys over there. not much that someone over there hasnt tryed with a zrx. look up the WOG seat mod over ther, if u whant a little more comfort. i put a zrx seat on my KZ. i wish i had a wog seat.

Personally I think it's due to tolerance stack up on some motors. Some 1100s will take a beating and never miss a lick, others blow even though they've been babied. Seems like if it makes it to 15k miles or so, then it will be good.

I think you're right Steel.

From 1984, through 1987, we sold literally dozens of zx900 and zx1000's. Not a single one had any issues with #3 con rod bearing. But some years later...about 5 years after they were out of production, I did have a customer with a 1000 motor in a 900 chassis toss a rod at the drag strip. It was when the 11's came out that problem really surfaced.

ZRX is a really nice ride :) They should bring them back with a zx14 engine version...THAT would be a ride :woohoo:

I agree with you Larry this bike with a 14 motor would be nasty. I wanted a good solid mount for my gopro camera so I made up a handle bar mount bracket, it worked out pretty good you can watch the tach and speedo plus it is solid so alot less vibration and camera movement. When I get some more time I will make a round bar mount for the frame for some differnt angles. Plus I picked up another swingarm to build a jig fixture so I don't have to tear the bike down while I build a swingarm for it.

Stonking power, great looks and more than adequate handling and break. That just about summs up the big Rex! Big Kawasaki's are known for their bullet-proof engines. The Rex is no different. I have performed some simple mods.

Anthony
