You can always make a few bucks another way, legally, and keep the bike. Looks real good for $1200.
ENJOY.

Paid $500. for it got another $250.00 in parts.
It needed lower fairings both sides ($50) mirror ($35) air filter ($35) and gas cap ($40) and other odds and ends.
Paint it grey with kawi green accents.
So good luck with yours.

Keep it! 4 bikes is like one car, at least they take up the same amount of space. I'm a student and I have 7 bikes (sold 1 a couple of weeks ago to my brother), and I have them all at my dad's place where I'm currently living during my studies. The thing with bikes is that you can never have to many of them, just not enough space to put them, or enough money to get them.
I'm currently looking at buying a Kawasaki GPZ 900 R from 1984, first year for that iconic model...might get it for ~ 700 Euros..maybe less....now it's just a matter of trying to shake out some money to get it :S
Buying old bikes and keeping them in a good condition, or having the intention of at one point doing so, is a nobel thing. Not only is it good for the inveroment to buy vhicles that already are produced (so that the energy imprent for producing them is zero) it's like an act to keep a part of motorvhicle history alive.
Also, there isn't ONE bike that can fulfill all the roles of a bike, all of them a compromises. So in order to have a bike for every need you'll need at least 7-8 of them, so you still have a way to go. People that sin't into bikes might think this sounds ludacris, but we know better, and have learned not to pay them to much attention, because it takes a biker to know a biker.
So yes, KEEP IT if you like it, if after riding it a while and it isn't to your liking, sell it and buy another bike. Kapishhh?
