Years ago my friend had Hippo Hands on his Yammy. They look pretty strange, but I rode it in some very cold weather and they kept my hands warm. They look like this:

Have done the newspaper on the torso and garbage bags on each pant leg. Along with a full face, scarf, leather jacket, gloves and boots. This was in April going back up north up to MI on I75 from Florida. It was my buddy's bike (no fairing) and I had my car. We switched back and forth between car and bike. Not bad during the daytime. At night it got real chilly, maybe into the 30's. I yearned to get back in the nice toasty car during my shift on the bike at night. Can't imagine riding in colder weather than that.

I'll ride in the winter in Oklahoma, I just layer up. I don't have a padded winter bike jacket, just a lined winter 3/4 length jacket. I do have a windshield, it helps a lot. When it drops under 20 degrees I switch to the car.

I call my girlfriend in St.Maarten and tell her I'm coming to visit, then I call my travel agent and book a flight. Depending on the cost I may ship my pickup down there with a couple of bikes in the back. I'll ride them while I'm there and then either stash them till next year or sell them just before I leave. I'm thinking the 550 LTD's would make good island bikes and they don't seem to fetch all that much here anyways.

Will ride as far as -5C/23F for 100 mile round trip. Much nicer in afternoon... 6 layers in top (3 layer 3/4 length coat, 3x shirts), and 4 layers in bottom (lined pants + long johns & jogging pants), plus goretex leather boots. For really cold days, using the day-glow Olympic one-piece suit and about 3 layers underneath. The crew then refers to me as "tron". Balaclava of course. Hands get cold fast, so added the venture battery glove liners this year. Fabulous heat, cooks your hands on high setting. Hippo hands look interesting. Will have to check those out. Snow-machine mitts work also cause not too much dexterity required where I ride; probably not wise in heavy traffic. Riding April-Nov in Eastern Ont, as long as the road surface is ice and salt-free. No other heated undergarments required from my pov.

I'm a retired motorcop from Ohio and rode in weather as cold as 19 degree F. I wore a two piece suit with layers underneath and electric gloves behind a windshiled. Stayed warm for the much part. Heated hand grips really help.

I just bought a nice pair of winter riding gloves and a breath box for my helmet, Makes a HUGE difference as far as fogging goes. As long as there's no snow or ice I'll just layer up. If the roads aren't clear I layer up and ride the Trail 70 lol, it's only good around town though...
