Honda 3 wheeler bringing big bucks

I knew the old Honda 3-wheelers were popular, but, like testarossa sees it, this does appear a bit odd.

I dunno, the ATC250R was a bit of a rarer machine from what I recall. And it is in a crate, 25 years later. It'd be awesome to have one of these in showroom condition.

My brother had one of them, he got at a auction for $650.00 in mint condition.....It was a great machine, it could wheelie in forth gear! I frightened the crap out of myself more then once on it, a serious fast machine for its day. He used for two years and sold it for $2500.00

You could buy one all ragged out and restore it to factory original for a lot less than $22,000. The 250r hondas were indeed bad ass machines but have never been or will ever be worth more than a couple grand in my opinion. But it does seem that everyone that has one thinks they are worth a fortune. The baddest atv of that time was the quadzilla by far and in mint condition rarely fetch more than $3,500.

The Honda was the best of the Trikes in those days. I was working for Honda when that guy came out. Best Chassis was just a part of it, the motor was also very powerful. Still detuned from the CR though. They outlawed the 3 wheelers for a good reason, which Patton points out. A lot of people got injured on the trikes, or killed. When hill climbing they will flip right on top of you, hard to slide off the back with the wide axle. I had a Tri-Z for awhile, and pumped up the Motor, but it handled like a POS.
The Honda would be fun for anyone who likes the Trikes!!

One of my buddies in high school had a honda 3 wheeler which we rode around a lot at his Dad's place. IMO those things earned their reputation as being a death machine. That thing had a very high propensity to flip over. It landed me on my head going up a hill and that was my last ride.
