But if ya can only get one, get the ELR not the TC...ya ya the TC is rare but the ELR would be far more enjoyable/rideable in my opinion.

When one spends 10 000$ or more on a bike I would put the ridable/enjoyment in second hand. If it comes down to picking only one bike I would still go for the TC and if I felt I needed something more ridable I would get a KZ1000J as it's in almost every aspect the same as a KZ1000R, and then maybe rebuild it slightly.
But if you have the money to spend, I would get 'em both. Would sure be a better place to stick your monay then the stockmarket...and I bet in many cases more solid then a house loan, seeing how the bikes would increase more in value then the avarage hose/property. :S
Buy now, think later!

I'll agree. I owned a TC and it was a fantastic bike to "owned" meaning long gone from here thankfully. On a scale of 1-10 in the fun factor it was about a 3 and in the looks factor if that Molly paint job also a 3. I was really happy to see mine go. I had a 1000J at one time and it was a really fun bike although the engine of those early 80s KZ1000s had lots of problems.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
