I know this is a kawasaki forum but I'm wondering if any of you have seen the bike that Eric Buell is manufacturing since Harley bought him out.Looks pretty exotic , right along with the price tag.

Mr. buell has to differentiate from the harley buell. Harley is watching him like a hawk, because they hold his patents and will sue at the hint of him using one.

I applaud the break away. He will now have the consumer interest and the following to make and sell an exponentially better bike without having to run his plans by a group that prides itself on styling over performance.

What? $40,000 and they couldn't find front and rear wheels that match? (Maybe Harley holds the patent on matching wheels). I'm sure it's fast etc. but it looks like something that escaped from a parts bin.

Does that mean the spokes cannot look similar? I don't think so.

I hope he succeeds, but I struggle to understand who he is targeting as his customer.

It's a strange choice to launch such an expensive bike, I would have thought he'd target the younger generation with a much more affordable bike - something in the $10k-$12k range.

Ducati, MV Agusta, Aprilia all have comparable exotic bikes.

He's going to need dealers to sell these bikes - and I can't see many dealers being interested.

The 1190RS will shock even the most experienced sport bike rider with its performance, styling and handling. Problem is, we’re only making 100 of them. Including a handful with the Carbon Edition Package

And today, the reward is 389lbs. of meticulously designed sport motorcycle propelled by a powerful 175hp motor.

And it's American made.

He doesn't appear to be targeting Ducati or anyone else, I'd say he's found his niche as a low volume specialty bike, and I'll bet he's going to be successful.
