LOL, ya know what, I`ve owned an L3 or an L4 (I`ve had too many to list lol) since 1994 and I know the tach is electric...Brain fart hahaa, seen Pattons reply and got all hopeful it would be simple, not the case. :blush:

Oops :blush: , let's change that to seeping valve cover gasket, or half-moons, or loose exhaust clamps, or need to torque head, or anything else more simple than head gasket or possible warped head, except tach drive.
Likely now's the time for the spray foot powder test.
Thoroughly clean engine.
Allow to dry completely.
Spray foot powder over all possible leak sources.
Start engine, allow to remain at idle rpm.
Closely observe powder for any area darkened by escaping oil.
Am still hopeful for a simple fix.
