Is it worth it to pick up a 1980 KZ250 LTD 400$?

I have an opportunity to pick up one of these bikes for about 400$. The bike looks to be in excellent cosmetic shape. Dude says it runs well but needs a battery probably a tune-up. Has 22000 KM's on it assuming they guy isn't lying and its 122,000. Anything I need to know about this particular year/model of bike? Are parts etc. pretty easy to come by? I'm looking at buying this for my girlfriend to ride and she is just short of midget status at 5'2". Thanks for any opinions guys/gals.

Used to have a '80 KL250, that had the same engine, I believe. Very good bike that was good on fuel. Got around 80 m.p.g. with top speed of 78 m.p.h. I really liked it and it was very easy to start and drive around town. Neat bike for your young lady!

(1) Well, if it runs well, it wouldn't need a tune-up or a battery.
(2) Parts are a hit or miss...there hasn't been the interest in keeping these on the road like for their larger relatives...so the aftermarket businesses have not emerged...eBay may be your best friend. 250's are very popular in other parts of the world (like Indonesia).
(3) For a bike that needs work (see #1), US$400 is way overpriced. JMO.

The dude is pretty firm at $400. Also its 400 Canadian and not US dollars.
Even though the Canadian Dollar is almost on par with the US we still pay more for everything here including used bikes. My G/F really wants it so I think I'll go take a look and if it runs well I'll get it for her. I will bring my own new battery so I can her for a test drive. I posted a picture of it here. Thanks for the replies and advice guys.
