Speaking of WWII, did you hear about the B-17 that went down near Aurora? It caught on fire and made a miracle landing.

My buddy took a ride on that plane a couple years ago. It's pretty much a puddle of melted aluminum now.

Sweet plane. That's gotta be a thrill to fly in. I figured you might have some time in something like that.

It was heartbreaking to see the remains of the b-17.

There is so little of this kind of stuff left that it is always a heartbreak. A slight similarity being, taking one of our classic bikes and bastardizing it.

Wasn't that B-17 the only one left in flying condition? Or am I thinking of a B-29?

Friend of mine paid the $$ to get to fly in the B-17 about 15 years ago, had some dynamite videos he'd taken while flying.

There is only one B-29 left. I think there is something like six or so B17s left flying. Here are some pictures of that incident. It was not really a crash but a forced landing because of a fire.
