What is it about the KZ 1000P? was created by Mike Mecredy
Yesterday I went on a Partiot Guard riders mission ( www.patriotguard.org ) there was a dozen or so guys at the rendezous point, some with Harleys, one really sharp Victory, a gold wing and a few Japanese V twins, but they were all drooling over my 1997 KZ 1000P, asking lots of questions, etc, I didn't even wash/polish it up yet this year. Most of the bikes were fairly new too, they really were surprised when I told them I only gave $1500 for it. Honestly I didn't expect that sort of reaction.

Dude,

What do you expect when folks realize that they're in the presence of the best, heaviest duty, high performance machine ever manufactured.

I've got a bunch of Police training layouts for tight maneuvers. A few of them have different dimensions for different bikes, can you guess which bikes have the smaller radiuses, Yep the cops who are riding Kawasakis have to turn tighter than either the Hardly's or the BMW's.

I'll post 'em if you like.

You've now experianced what many Kz owners have done. Many of the newer, faster & bigger bikes are for the most part ignored when a good running Z1,or Kz is on the road.

Crowds will gather,& stories will be told about how fast their old bike was,or how their Dad,Brother,or Uncle had one and how much they enjoyed it.

Nothing comes close to the sound produced, when an old Kawasaki 4 cylinder clears it's throat and get's it act together moving down the road....

there will be a time and not too far off when a nice clean great running cop bike..kz..or j model....will not be easy to find...good for you for getting one...i may have to get one soon or miss the train on these workhorses.....i got to speak with a bike officer the other day for a few minutes and we were near my kz....he said with a great big smile..i rode those ...meaning the police kawasakis..."they were great"

people sometimes say they were beat on and ridden to the point of worn out...when really thery ran fine when sold and were slacked on by the couple of civilians that owned em next...

i would dig buying one from a local precinct ,which is where many still are tucked away, only for ,parades, race support, or special details...

there is a 90's one at kicking around Laguna Seca, parked behind the event buildings, with bald tires...the overtime sheriffs use it on weekends they sign up to ...bet it will go cheap to someone too
