I think the 1976 kh250 triple is quite rare -- I've read that under 1800 total were made.
(see see www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/vintage...0s-2-stroke-kzs.html )

The U.S. versions of the 1976 kh250 are particularly rare, as the front had a drum brake, while the UK and Euro kh250 had a front disc brake.

Here's the relevant comment from the above link:

"The last official model was actually the KH250 in 1980. The KH400 stopped in 78, while the KH500 only appeared in 76. The H1 came in 69. Colours of the year was white or grey. 1970 was red or grey (same grey as 69). 1971 H1A was blue and had a different fuel tank that was unique to 71. 1972 saw two models, the H1B and the H1C. The B got the same front end as the H2 with a disc brake. The B also had painted fenders. The H1C was a mix between the A and the B. It had bodywork from the B model, apart from the fenders that were the stainless ones from the A. The engine was from the A and so was the mufflers (different baffles than the B). The complete H1C front end with everything included apart from the turn signal brackets were from the A as well. The turn signal brackets were from the 350 S2. The B had points ignition and the C had the CDI from the 69-71 H1's. Both the B and the C were Pearl Candytone Orange. Production numbers on the C were about 1800 units, which make it one of the rarest triples. The 1976 KH250-A5 with a front drum brake had lower production figures.
In 1973 the new series of H1's arrived. They had a new series of frames starting with H1F (F meaning frame, not to be confused with the 1975 H1F model). The engine numbers continued from the old KAE series. That's why the frame and engine numbers differs so much on the later H1's. The 73 H1D was green and had the H2 ignition system. The 74 H1E was green or red and got a new iggy system. 1975 H1F colours were blue or brown/yellow. It was renamed KH500 in 76 and taken down to 52 HP due to the strict US emission(?) laws and the oil crisis. Compared to the 60HP of the early H1's, the KH500 was a tamed beast. "

The 750's 500 triples are worth big $$$

In good shape they regularly sell in the $5,000-$8,000 range really nice ones with the right pipes bring even more.

Complete basketcases can still sell for $2,000

I guess this is a pretty good deal on this 500 right?
