You better rethink that statement. Or at least rephrase it. It might be the smallest MOTORCYCLE manufacturer, because they build about everything els in Japan. Kawasaki industries has NO EQUAL in the US. Kawasaki builds everything from Bridges, Skyscrapers, Super-Tankers, Freight / Container Ships, Trains, Over the road Trucks, Aircraft (Military & Civilian) AND Motorcycles, besides power tools and electronics. About the only thing they do not build is CARS. They leave that to Honda and Suzuki. BUT that being said they do have their hands in Nissan. If Kawasaki Motorcycle division ever closed their doors, It would affect the company sort of like if Sears stopped selling Handkerchiefs. Yes it is true one of the earlier posts stated they make the "Shinkansen" (Bullet train). Mitsubishi and Kawasaki are the largest Aerospace manufacturers in Japan also.

Hi Guys, I've been around but just too busy to be active. My new job keeps me quite busy. As far as the bikes are concerned, I would also love to see a zephyr here in the US. I want nothing to do with the liquid cooled 16V bikes. I guess I'm just old school. Kawasaki really screwed up the Zephyr 1100 when it was here and many guys got turned off If they were smart back than they would just have made the Zephyr with the existing Police engine and they would have faired better. On the other hand, they did quite well on the Zephyr 750. That was a very nice bike. Here is the Zephyr ZR750 that I rebuilt and painted for my brother.

I'm not sure what got stuck in your craw, Otto, but you said the same thing I did. Although I didn't specifically say the smallest of the Japanese motorcycle manufacturers it was implied.

Sometimes I think someone ought to take the caffeine out of the water around this place. It's no wonder I'm not as active here as I used to be...

I took no offense. I just clarified the statement, that is all. I knew what you meant, I just wanted to make sure that everyone els did also. And stick with the caffeine there is nothing wrong with it. the problem is with me I think I just need to get la*d more often that's all. :evil:
