I can beat the "shortest-distance" contest! My cousin bought a Suzuki 700 from a guy in March (years ago). In March there is still frost on the ground in Ohio. HE couldn't ride so he asked me to ride it home for him. It was about 8:00am and the metal drain grate int the middle of the four-way intersection was frosty. The bike was purchased at the second house from the intersection. I went through the stop sign, over the metal grate, and the back tire passed me putting the bike across the intersection from me.

This is the reason I have Kawasaki's and NOT Suzuki's. A KZ would not have done that to me!!!

Well, twice within a week of me riding a set of Dunlops that were old made me a believer. I had to hit the brakes at over 60mph when a semi-truck driver switched lanes in to my lane as I was trying to pass by him. He came in to my lane and I had 6 inches maybe a little more to the retainer wall. I slammed the breaks and both tires skidded. I can't believe he switched lanes so quick and without so much as a turn signal. The next day going to work some clown slammed on his brakes and once again sent me skidding on two wheels. Next day I put some new metzlers on the bike and have made sure to wear them out within two seasons. Riding a bike with old tires is like having sex with a prostitute that has a disease wearing an old condom. You are asking for trouble on both counts.
I remember you saying that you used car oil in your bike engine? Maybe that could have caused all the sludge build up? Sorry, I digress.
Well damned good thing you believe in wearing good safety gear. Hope you change your opinion on at least having fresh rubber. I will never again leave tires on my bike for more than two seasons. The fresher the better. Besides the fact that tires for me wear out quickly as I put a lot of miles each season on my bike. Thank God for summer vacation.
