'77 vs '78 kz1000. Differences?

-missing signals
-missing mirrors
-missing grab rail
-non stock handle bars
-rusted 4 into 1 exhaust
-could be original tires, or at least old style
-leaky forks
Other than that it looks complete. Without even talking to the guy, it's likely that the motor and trans are good.
Tank and side covers are royal blue.
I only looked at it briefly and noticed some differences from my 77 Kz 1000.
-different master brake
-different seat (squarish, and slightly stepped)
-different head lamp bucket
Looks like it hasn't run in at least several years.
I would like the to request the benefit of your knowledge.
-What colours did Kz 1000's come in, in 1978?
-What are the differences between '77s and '78s
-What's it worth? Even just to part out?
-Is it worth the effort to part out? I had a hard time even giving away parts from a '77 Kz 650
Thanks in advance,
Ross

Plus, I'd have to hide it somewhere. My wife thinks I have two too many already.

If the tank is in good condition, what's it worth?

Internal carb differences, guessing thanks to EPA regs ---

Thanks for the info. Very interesting. This being a Canadian bike, I'd like to see if it is the same as an American one.
