Whats up everyone, new here. Just picked me up a 1980 KZ750 and was looking for some info.

The VIN is KZ750H-008187 which tells me its a H series if I am readin it right and that its a 1980 model. When I first saw the enine code I thought the motor was changed out but it looks like it is supposed to have a KZ750E on it.

If all that is correct then I guess I do not have H series handlebars on it because all the pictures I have seen show the H series to have bars that are more angled back compared to the E series. Does this sound correct?

Also on the Kawasaki site, it just calls my VIN a LTD. is that just a H series or is it something else. Thanks

Edit: forgot to add, I started to really look into all this when I saw clutch cables were different for the 2 models. Now I am still not sure because the handle bars look different. I know there is a good chance someone changed them

Welcome gospdrcr...welcome to KZR. One of the common modifications done to the LTD series (which you have BTW, 750H = LTD model) is to put flatter handlebars on the bikes, which means you are probably running 750 E bars (or the equivalent) and E series cables). Pictures would help us aid you. :)

H is the code for LTD in the 750 four cylinder bikes, and LTDs generally have taller bars than the standard E models.

All the 750 four motors say KZ750E, I think all the way through 85.

Lots of people change handle bars, I'm on my third or fourth set on my 750 twin :)

Thanks for the quick responses. I thought right away of pictures to make things easy but I dont have any on me atm.

I will get some posted back up but from the looks of the E pics I have seen it may be just what they did.
