(K)Z1000R(2) ~1500 Euros was created by Mookachacka
Hi,
So I've been in touch with a guy up north in Sweden (I myself live in the south part of Sweden) that has a Z1000R from -83, the R2 model, and I've been promised to buy it for around 1500 Euros. Only thing that's been putting me of from getting it so far is the 1200 mile round trip up there and back down again.
The Bike seems to be in good condition, though it's been repainted to some ugly color...but my plan is to paint it in the US-color scheme and put a Kerker 4-1 on it, and not doing much more then that for some time. It got about 23 000 (38 000 km) miles on the speedo, whick seems acurate...
I've manage to convince my self that's it's a pretty good deal, even counting in the cost to get it to the condition I've imagened...so is it a no brainer, should I just get my as out of the wagon and drive up and get it?
Thankfull for any input
Best regards,
Otto Sandstrom from Sweden
EDIT: Added a picture of it. It lacks the front fairing in the picture, but he has it. It seems to have the original clothing on the seat, but it's ripped...but looks like it can be repaired. A smal oil leak from the valve cover..could be the gasket, the end plugs or some ripped threads I guess.

Good Day Otto...for $1500, I'm tempted to drive to Sweden to buy it. Yes, that is a great deal. If you really want to be convinced how good a deal it is, post this on
www.kz1000r.com
and read the members reactions (those from Finland, Norway, and Sweden).

welcome mookachacka!
have you left yet?
you need to load your a$$ in the wagon and drive up country to pick this jewel up!
be sure to take plenty of pictures.once the bike is in your possesion and it is how you want it you will not even remember the drive up,or the money (ok maybe the money  )
it is a very sought after bike and you won't regret owning and fulfilling your vision for it,for one moment.
all right so how is that for a pep talk?  :woohoo: .
you still here?
go get the bike!
show us pictures!
get it?

Called the guy today and spoke to him. Driving up there on the 24:th this month, so if nothing happens on they way up or down I'll have it in my possession the day after! I'll post an update after that.
