I don't have a pic, but what I remember Jon rode a 75 Z1B 900(reflectors on the front forks and Z1 side panels) Ponch rode the 76 KZ900.
1977 KZ1000A1, 1105cc,Mikuni RS34mm FS, K&N Pods,Kerker 4/1,Dyna S Ign,Coils & Plug Wires,Progressive Sup. Front&Rear, Derale Oil Cooler.

i found this..i know they rode a spoked rim z-1 also,i remember watching an old episode where it was a z-1 molded side cover on their bikes.....

The bikes in Mark's pic are definitely different than the ones Tri posted. The fenders and caliper locations are different.

And it looks like the tank graphics are different between the two pics Tri posted.

Looks like they may have changed the bikes at some point.

I'm sure that the hollywood studio where they shot the series used a fleet of bikes to acclomplish the task. They probably bought them by the dozen. Invariably there would be different models and years of the famous Police Kaw that made it in front of the camera. They just took whatever bike the motor pool had up and running that day. I would be interested to know just how many bikes they went through making the show.
1981 KZ1000 Police Special coverted for civilian use with passenger seat, custom luggage rack, and paint. Daily rider.

i always knew kawi's made great hillclimbers but i never thought to try with hard bags and a tour pack on.
