ehhh, you will get use to the weight eventually. its just a balancing act. and when you do start riding it you wont find yourself pushing it all that often. :) "because these bikes are very reliable!"

if i were you i would just use the side stand, alot less trouble..i only use my center stand when im working on my bike.

Anyway, shorter rear shocks, a little heel, and sliding your fork tubes up through your tree clamps should to lower the front should help out alot.;)

Good luck

I'm gonna go the other way and say a kz550 especially an LTD may be your size bike. Great little spirited machine and a big difference from the 750 LTD. Had both and loved both but the 550 was smaller, lighter, nimbler, and that 6 speed was fantastic. I think you'd like it a lot more. Just my thoughts.

Take it from me cuz I found
If you leave it then somebody else is bound,
To find that treasure, that moment of pleasure,
When yours, it could have been.

One thing I would recommend is to install a set of case guards. These will enable you to pick the bike up encase of a drop. When I bought my first KZ1300 I was in the Marines and was 165# of solid muscle. When I accidentally lost balance of the bike at a dead stop, I could not pick it back up. When I installed the case guards it was actually simple to pick it up. Don't get rid of the bike, just learn how to handle it. There are an enormous amount of people out there that have successfully learned to handle a bike which would be considered much too big for them. Look at all the guys that ride a Boss Hoss. Hell the engine alone comes in at 700#. Get the boots buy 1" shorter shocks and lower the front forks 1" and you will be fine. Don't let these guys scare you. They just want your bike and put you an a little Honda. Hell I think that a chick on a big bike is sexy. ;)

xxxx2 and maybe find someone who is'nt a tool to do some rides with ....a few rides with a decent motorcyclist and they can help by pointing out little stuff...90 % is leverage and just letting some time go by....you'll stall it...you'll tip it over a few times too...but almost everyone goes trough this...if it starts to tip and you know it's a for sure...just get off it and let it tip....it's an old tough bike and bikes can always be fixed or touched up....it's no fun to ride afraid so relax and let the journey begin....as said before....a running bike is night and day to a not running bike as far as leverage and ease of movement....it WILL be fine...you can lower your forks an inch or so prob..your seat can be shaved for cheap at any auto upholstery shop.....your rear shocks can be lowered....check the tire pressure and google some discussions on M cycle tire pressure ..it is important...the seat fork and rear shock tircks will make the bike way easier to deal with...good luck

Well thanks for all the tips. The bike is really heavy but weight I can deal with. I have been pushing it trying to turn it around in my backyard because I have been working on it. I plan on taking the rider course next month. The seat is torn up anyways so that is going to be fixed. I have been putting it on the center stand because I have been working on it and I haven't been riding it so I didn't want it to sit on the side stand. I will probably lower it if possible. I have the rear shocks to the shortest setting right now. I can put my left foot flat and have my toes touch the ground on the right, but not my heal. I will get a decent photo of me up here with the bike so you guys can understand the size difference. LOL...but sorry no full frontal pics. Any idea on how to find out what size rear shocks are on the bike now...I believe the bike is all OEM. I am doing my research on things that this bike will need to make it mine. I do refuse to do cosmetic work until I actual can ride it. Probably wait until next summer to make it pretty. Cause like you guys said, I will drop it. Someone mentioned case guards...what are these? Well the day has been exhausting so I am gonna hit the hay. Thanks for the encouragement guys.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationa 16 inch scrap of 2x6" set on ther floor (if it has an angle cut into one end like a dust pan or ramp all the better)then rock the bike back wards till the rear tire is nice and centerd on the slab of wood and then use the center stand, this takes a lot of wheight off of the effort...mentioned before also, just detailed here....

they can really drop the seat down at a upholstery shop and ask for denser foam to compensate for the loss of cushion..big time help....

some of the ltd750 owners can better tell you your stock shocks lengths...shorter shocks can be found used or ordered....the length is measured with the shock unsprung or removed(not hard to do as the other shock will keep the thing together for the moment while on it c-stand)with the shock off measure center of top hole to center of bottom hole ..ie...12 1/2 " ect...

the item i'm showing you below is designed to bolt on the bottom swingarm in the current shocks hole mounts and "lays" the shock down some by spreading the bottom shock mounts back a bit...this item in the auction pictured below is rusty but could be painted..and is gonna go cheaper...these same mounts sometimes auction for up to 50...but these rusty ones will stay lower in the bidding price imo

good luck...

i am on a mini laptop and the e-bay item is stalling that i was referencing...if it did not copy in the previous reply..

try going to ebay and searching these words

KAWASAKI Z1 900 KZ900 USED Rear Shock Lowering Blocks

these may not fit an ltd750 ...others will know here,,,,i have seen them on bikes and they seem to really lower the rear, but not change the bike toooo much....the handle bars are another area of change that could bring you arms and controls lower and closer to your leverage...others with 750's may help here with tips also...good luck

I think lowering the bike will help you Stephanie My wifes bike is the same weight as mine but the fact its a foot shorter she is able to handle it much better. She can still barely pick it up but up but she doesn't drop it. how tall are you? in case I missed it

I agree with modifying the bike to suit you. I know that there is a place here in Daytona that specializes in modifying Harley's and Asian cruisers specifically for women. I can't remember the name of the company but a lot of what they do revolves around seat and suspension mods. I was up at Destination Daytona once and they had an event with bike cops from around the area demonstrating their riding techniques and one of the things that they did was show how to pick up a bike and they had a fully dressed out Harley Police bike on it's side and the officer that picked it up was a woman that was about 130 lbs. She actually made it look pretty easy so technique is more important than size. I think that at one time thereo of it on you tube but it has been a while.
