here she is... My dad bought it. it would have been stupid not to. It is in great shape and we got a guaranteeB) from the guy that if the tranny was bad or something like that, he would give us our money back. It will run. I already went through the carburetors. The needles were stuck and there was a blockage in the main jet and immersion valve on the right side carburetor. That was the pipe that was cold to, on the left side. It perteh. It my dad's though and he doesn't want to put it in his name, he said he was just gonna re sell it after i played around with it for a while. Theres like 3 years of back payments for the registration that we need to take care of. Heres a video of it, and my dad's KZ1000, and my KZ1000. My dad just re wired his bike with his wiring harness that he repaired so its got some parts that are still in the house yet. Here you go, tell me what you guys think, i think we scored...

Nice bikes.

On the 400, if the airbox is off, you may need to rejet the carbs.

Also, sometimes the slides in the carbs stick. If the airbox is off, it's easy to check. You pull the filters if there are any (I couldn't tell in the vid). Then get behind the bike and shine a flashlight into the carb intakes. (You get behind the bike in case there is a backfire. You don't want your face in the carb.) As you rev the bike, you should see both carb slides open and close at about the same time.

If one does not go up, it's usually the alignment on the big cap on the top of the carb. Just loosen the screws and re-snug them up as you push the slide up and down with your finger, (while the bike is not running, of course). Also, the slides need to be clean, and usually need like one drop of motor oil to function smoothly.

This is the KZ twin's forum. It's great for questions on the twins.

"..73 old. Really old...", boy that made me feel really old! :D

Nice video. BTW, I really think you ought to keep that 400.
