I'd do it as long as there's nothing funky about it. Not bent, and if it will pass a safety inspection with minimal work, then go for it. You have seen the bike, haven't you?

Pics on Monday....I think it's a winner. Saw it today briefly. The only thing that caught my eye were missing badges on left side. I know the current owner, he is my car mechanic. It needs a little carb work and that's all, according to him.

Yes, it is a mkIII, I am only familiar with 1st gen bikes. What does mkIII mean exactly?

I might trust the old needs carbs rebuilt line from a mechanic, if you trust him. Do it.

the mk11 is a very desirable bike they only built 4000 or so in each 1979 /1980 i'm not an expert on the numbers but suffice it to say they ain't a lot left trilaguna just picked one up as well and even if the carbs are crap who cares you can always get something to work just grab the bike and you have a start on something really cool.
