Finally got my title for my 1980 kz650 ltd!

After a year of trying, I finally got it. What a hassle. But, now I get to ride it. The bike runs like a new one. I just changed the oil, used rotella and a new WIX filter. I put the new NGK spark plugs in it and its ready to go. To bad its raining alittle right now. Suppose to clear up this evening.

If you dont mind me asking what did you do to get the title straighted out? Did you use a title company or just hound the previous owner for it?

I can't tell, I'de be incriminating myself I did what I had to do! It was luck and knowing the right people.

At least tell us what you had to start with. I had a title problem and had to get a different frame with a title to get it worked out. Did you even have a title to start with? There are a few people with title issues that could use a little advise. Every state is different and some states its just about impossible without having the title in hand. I have 2 KZ650 frames without titles

Why is it always so hard to get a title?Ihate going through the hoops.I can buy a car without a title a gun or a house easy whats with the title problem with old bikes?
Anyone in the know feel free to chime in.
Im in Canada and we have the same problem up here.Seems like they dont want these old bikes on the road anymore.

I had a title. But the guy before the guy I bought it from had signed it in some spots and had it notorized. A couple of the tag offices around here told me there was nothing I could do, except talk to the guy that was the original owner of the title. I couldnt find him.

Another tag office told me If I got a notorized bill of sale, she would do it. I came up with the guys signiture for that magical bill of sale. Got my new licence plate and tags yesterday.

That makes since now. Way to go keeping another classic out of the ebay scrap all machine.

thanks, It was very irritating having a perfectly good bike, that I couldn't ride. The bike only has 12k on it! Should I chop it up and make a bobber?
