Traded a Ducati for a Bandit.... was created by StreetfighterKz
I traded my '00 Ducati Monster 750 for a '96 Bandit 6. Yeah it seems like an unfair trade...until you hear about the Bandit. Plus dealer retail on the Duc was $3295 and mine was worth about $2700-2800.
It's a '96 B6 frame with a '98 B12 motor, '94 VFR750 SSSA, '01 R6 tail and a set of SV650 forks with 6 piston calipers. It needs some TLC (possibly new battery, choke cable, some matching nuts and bolts, etc) but it runs strong and fits me better than the Duc did.
Finally I have a proper oil-cooled streetfighter.

I think that I would have done that deal. Just on looks, I like the new bike better. I know that the bandits were well liked, but I have no experience. I wouldn't feel too bad about trading away a monster. If you had said that you had traded away a 748,848,996,1098, 1198, or streetfighter then I'd say you were crazy. I would be very suspect of the modifications on the new bike until I completed a thorough inspestion, but I know that you are capable of that based on your experience.

Thats a pretty cool custom streetfighter! I would have made that trade too. Damn, you beat me to a single sided custom

Why is the tail up so high? Just for looks or does it serve a purpose? The Bandits have a very strong engine, enjoy.

For looks, mainly. It's a German influence in the streetfighter scene. The more it points to the sky the better in their eyes.
I can't wait to get in onto the road! I just have to get through all the red tape that comes from getting a vehicle from out-of-state. :S

Have you ever been caught in the rain on a bike with no fenders? I have. I recommend scuba gear.

I have too. It's amazing how the tire can throw the water upwards and then the moving air takes the water and aims it at your face. LOL! A front fender is pretty high on my priority list of things to buy.

Way to go Doug.
Thats a 1200cc right? i bet she ripps.
I cant see u missing the duc.
aside from the highish tail, she looks KILLER.
Its funny how a trend takes off like that. i think the tails look good with a little lift, but they seem to feel the higher the better. even to the point of uncufortable looking in some cases.
Great find.B)Way coolB)
Keep it twisted.
