what brand sunglasses do folks prefer ??if any

About two years ago i was coming back from big sur,when in the bike lane i saw some shades...i turned around and ran back and got em...one tiny nick on a lense and even had leashes attached....

They were really cool...glass lenses...and felt expensive....i noticed on a spring trip to the napa wine country...just how clean and crisp and alive the scenery was and became in love with the found treasure...shades...

One day while screwing around wrestling with my gal...she put the WWF moves to me and broke the arm off the shades...glueing...melting ...nothing worked...so i googled the make and model...SHIT..125.00....i was gonna kill her..

Well after countless decent shades of lower quality turning to shit on me quick...i decided i missed the polarized smith caymans and started watching e-bay...

Now i'm screwed...I have two sets and bought one for her brother in law skater dude in white.....

yesterday i took my nephew riding and let him wear mine..he was like"WOW"......

i figure it's money well spent ,as my older eyes need clear vision while riding...and....they make the spring colors out of this world....

some "smith polarized" can be found for under 70.00 if i watch the sales on e-bay carefully ,but if you do search be careful of the ones that are not "brown lenses polarized" as they do make a lower quality lense in plastic black...well worth 10 pairs of gas station glasses...lifetime gaurantee with new purchases too

this pair is my "riding only" as it is not glass but a special polarized saftey material...they are friggin unbelievable while riding...super crisp and definition is super clear and colors are soooooo beautiful....i got these for like 50 and shipping...brand new


the caymans are glass and just for nice daily shades or car use...thay however dont drop below 100.00,still better than the throw away 12.00 ones i seem to buy all year before

the caymans and the Dons,have that perfect fit...everyone who tries em wants to keep em...and so far everyone says"wow,they fit me perfect"...they make wearing sunglasses 100% nicer...and that is why i posted this thread....try em on at a camping backpacking store...but save50-75 and search em online....

they are another brand/and model...that fit perfect and offer high quality optics....they also can be had for a great savings/deal if searched on e-bay...

I where Ray Band's too, but I prefer the Predator's

My favorite shades are SPY with Smith up there too. I had a pair of. Snowboarding SPY's that were great and wore them for years until I lost them. The actually had ducts to pull air across the lenses to keep them from fogging up and I have had Smith goggles and glasses as well and have always been happy with them as well but now I have a pair of Berkley polarized fishing glasses from Walmart since lately I have either lost or destroyed every pair of sunglasses I have had.

A few years ago I realized what I was missing with quality lenses in my shades. My old man gave me a pair of his old Serengeti Drivers aviators from the mid 80's. I loved them so much I got 2 more Serengeti's, another pair of aviators, and a set of polarized Drivers for the car. The Serengeti lenses are polychromatic, and as you say Craig they bring out the colours of the grass and trees and everything you look at like nothing I have experienced before. I use the Aviators when riding as they nicely cover my face from bugs and wind, and the polarized ones in the car as they look a little more discreet than big old aviators. The polarization process racks up the price on glass lensed shades though unfortunately...they aint cheap! I got my non-polarized aviators for the bike used (but in great shape as the lenses don't scratch) on eBay for 50$.

i was bragging to my buddy with the kayaks about my smith polarized "DONS"..he put em on and went wow.....

reaches in his car and grabs some wrap around fishing type glasses...and says try these.......

i forgot to ask the brand ect...but they appeared to be just some normal shades for fishing...wow!!!

so those berklies may be right up there with the top brands too.....

speaking of losing em....tha'ts why i did the dish off to her brother in law when he started commenting on liking the new white dons i had just got in the mail...gave him the glasses....the case..the sticker,the warranty paper and the damn box...did the no strings hand off move...hope the sunglasses gods go easy on the pairs i've kept now:woohoo:

I have to wear prescription glasses so that really cuts down on the styles avaliable, I like the looks of the Ray-Bans but they won't stay on my head. I have lost two pair off my head in the past 10 years. I use KD's originals now, stick like glue, cost 8 dollars a pair and about 40 for the lenses.

I've used "Blue blockers" for years and they don't cost much.
