Are you sure that that is a 750? Because if that bike is stock in the picture it looks EXACTLY like a 1980 KZ650-E1 (LTD) Which was the FIRST 650 LTD made and was astep down from the D3(SR)

Not sure of year(but I think otakar's right) but 750's never came with crossed pipes so it's definitaly a 650.

1980 KZ650F1, Bought new out the door for $2,162.98!

YES, it was a 650 now that you have reminded me. It is stock in this picture. I do remember walking in the showroom and seeing this bike and i HAD to have it. I do also remember that they had a LTD on the floor also but it was the model with the teardrop tank and pulled back bars.

The tear drop tank did not come on the 650 until the 1981 CSR with the higher pullback bars, but that one was blue and had spoke wheels and an offset axle on the front wheel. The only red LTD in 1980 with a teardrop tank was the 550 with pull back bars and an also offset axle. What you had was definitely a 1980 650-E1(LTD) The lines correspond exactly. Actually i believe this bike was the ONLY LTD that did not have a teardrop tank and pullback bars.

Thats what caught my eye back in 1980 or maybe 1981 was the sweet lines of this bike i.e. the tank and seat lines. I think it was a leftover when i got it.

Also, that exhaust system was only available in 1979/80 and only on the 650 LTD and SR. It almost made it sound like a two cylinder.
